Saath Suicide Prevention Centre, Ahmedabad organised an event in the Army Cantonment today evening between 5 pm and 6.30 pm. The topics covered were specific types of stress experienced by Jawans/Officers’ wives and how to mitigate those stressors without being emotionally affected. The presentation also covered women’s safety in an easy-to-understand language for their adult/adolescence daughters. Ruby presented the entire presentation pack prepared for the purpose. Shaila and Gurjeet came up with a novel way to anticipate the questions that could be agitating the minds of the women and how the women take them in their stride and feel proud about being a wife of Army Personnel.
A small role play of Befriending with an Army Personnel’s wife between Gurjeet (the Befriender) and Ruby (the Caller) was also enacted successfully.
Jasbir gave an overview of the importance of mental health.
On behalf of Saath Ruby received a memento at the hands of Mrs. Bagga.
The feedback on the event made Team Saath proud as Mrs. Bagga, head of the Katar Family and wife of GOC, Western Command was highly appreciative of the sense of imagination of the Team Saath in designing the programme with which their women could easily relate.Saath Team consisting of Anjuben, Salimbhai, Sudhir, Jasbir and Ruby were invited by The Army Cantonment, Ahmedabad to make presentations on Stress Management for highschool students and their mothers as part of our outreach programme for them.
The event’s Chief Guest was Mrs Naik – the Vice-President of their Women Welfare Club. The presentation at the event was a great success indicating, as usual, Saath Team work led by our Founder and the Director. The feedback on the event by the participants was very encouraging. The entire event lasted for about 90 minutes without a single dull moment. In this photograph our Founder Anjuben is seen receiving a memento at the hands of the Chief Guest. A few other photographs are also shared here.
